Mubasher: Canada is "seriously concerned" over the recent tension in the relations with Saudi Arabia, a foreign ministry spokeswoman stated on Monday.
"We are seeking greater clarity on the recent statement from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," Marie-Pier Baril said.
On Sunday, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled its ambassador in Canada Naif bin Bandir Alsudairy and gave the Canadian ambassador to the kingdom, Dennis Horak, 24 hours to leave the kingdom.

The fallout began after Ottawa’s foreign ministry made comments about a wave to Saudi activist arrests, which the Saudi government described as "interference" in its local matters.
"We urge the Saudi authorities to immediately release them and all other peaceful human rights activists," the Canadian foreign ministry posted on Twitter.
